Sault man charged with driving 122 in a 50 zone

WAWA - On Monday Sept. 18, 2017, at approximately 5:35 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were on general patrol on Mission Road in Wawa when they observed a northbound motor vehicle travelling at 122km/h in a posted 50km/h zone.

As a result a 30-year-old Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. male was charged with the following offence:

  • Adult race a motor vehicle - excessive speed contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The defendant was issued a Part III Summons with a court date in Wawa, Ont. for Nov. 15, 2017.
