On April 7, 2020, a few minutes before midnight, members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Waltonen Road in the Town of Bruce Mines.
Investigation determined, a westbound vehicle was travelling on Highway 17, crossed the highway, struck the shoulder and rolled numerous times. The vehicle was totalled and towed. The driver and passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The 37-year-old driver from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: careless driving, contrary to section 130(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
