On Sept. 15, 2017, shortly after 8 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) began an investigation into a fatal single vehicle motor collision involving Kenneth Aubin, 62 years of age from Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, who was pronounced deceased at the scene in McNie Township.
The ATV operator was travelling northbound on McNie Road when the ATV he was driving lost control on the roadway and rolled three times. The operator was ejected and came to rest on the gravel roadway. The ATV subsequently came to its final rest next to the driver.
The driver was wearing his helmet at the time of the collision. Post mortem date has yet to be confirmed.
The investigation is continuing.
