OPP remind residents to secure vehicles after Blind River thefts

Lock your vehicle, keep valuables out of sight, police urge

BLIND RIVER – The East Algoma OPP is reminding people to lock their vehicles after responding to an incident last week.

Police say they responded to a call shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday in regards to a male who had been spotted going through unlocked vehicles stealing items. He was reportedly seen in the Woodward Avenue business section of Blind River.  

Police are reminding vehicle owners to do the following in order to minimize thefts:   

  • Never leave a running vehicle unattended;  
  • Lock your doors;   
  • Roll up your windows;   
  • Keep valuables out of sight;   
  • Pocket your keys;   
  • Always park in a well-lit area.
