HAVILAND TOWNSHIP - On Oct 6, 2018 at approximately 11:30 p.m., members from the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision with no injuries on Haviland Shores Dr., Haviland Township, Ont.
As a result of further investigation, Jim Rowland-Vas, 23 years old of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., was arrested and charged with the following:
• Care or control of a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• Care of control of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) CC
• Driving while under suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
• Careless driving contrary to section 130(1) of the HTA
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Nov. 5, 2018 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
