YOUTH FAILS TO STOP AT R.I.D.E. CHECK

A 16-year-old female faces criminal charges after she failed to stop for members of the Sault Ste Marie O.P.P. R.I.D.E. Unit.

On Friday night at 11:00 p.m. members of the R.I.D.E. unit were checking vehicles at the intersection of Hwy 17 and 638. A vehicle approached the spot check and did not stop for police. The vehicle was followed up Hwy 638 for a short distance prior to the pursuit being terminated by the police.

The vehicle was located sometime later on a side road off of Hwy 638. A 16-year-old female was arrested and charged with Dangerous Driving and Fail to Stop for Police. She will appear in Young Offender Court in October.

STOLEN CHAIN SAWS
Goulais River, Ont.
Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating the theft of two chain saws from the Havilland Shores Drive area of Goulais River. Some time over the past week someone entered a garage in the 900 block of Havilland Shores Drive and stole two chain saws and other tools.
