On September 30, 2015 at approximately 10:40 am officers from the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in the Lendrum Township.

On September 30, 2015 at approximately 10:40 am officers from the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in the Lendrum Township. Investigation revealed that the female driver was travelling Northbound Highway 17 when she lost control of her vehicle causing it to leave the roadway striking several guard post before coming to rest onto the shoulder. As a result the 20 years old female driver was charged with Careless Driving contrary to section 130 of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

The Superior East Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reminding all motorists and property owners to keep their vehicles locked when unattended and keep their property secure.  On Sunday October 4, 2015 two incidents were reported to police where property were taken from motor vehicles. As a result motorists and property owners are encouraged to keep all valuables out of their vehicles when unattended and to secure their property in order to deter criminals. Here are some suggestions which will promote safety and protect your property:
-          Lock all doors and windows of your vehicle after exiting.
-          Don’t leave personal identification or valuables in your vehicle.
-          Consider installing anti-theft device on your vehicle.
-          Keep your garage doors and windows locked.
-          Install motion sensors for automatic light activation.

On Saturday October 3, 2015 at approximately 1:05 pm officers from the Superior East Wawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Theft of gas from a local business. A description of the suspect auto and driver were provided to all Superior East OPP members. The motor vehicle was located travelling Northbound on Highway 17 and was subsequently stopped just South of White River Ontario. Investigation led to the arrest of Robert Beatteay (46) of London Ontario. The accused stands charged with the following offence,
-          Adult Theft Under $5000 contrary to section 334 (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The male was held for a Bail Hearing in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario on Monday October 5, 2015.
