The rainy wet weather over the weekend helped to keep incidents down in the areas patrolled by the Sault O.P.P. WASHOUT Officers came upon a washout in the westbound lane of Highway 17 at Pumpkin Point Road east of Echo Bay.

WASHOUT
Officers came upon a washout in the westbound lane of Highway 17 at Pumpkin Point Road east of Echo Bay. Officers discovered the washout at 3:00pm Saturday. The Ministry of Transportation was contacted and the road was repaired. No accidents resulted.

SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT AT BATCHEWANA
On Saturday at 9:00pm, the driver of a 1995 Chrysler Neon lost control of his vehicle in the soft shoulders as he drove along Highway 563 in the Batchewana Bay area. The vehicle ended up along the beach area. Batchewana Bay First Response/Fire department and the OPP were on the scene. There were no injuries reported and only minor damage to the vehicle however the driver was charged with being impaired.
