UNATTENDED VEHICLES VANDALIZED
Searchmont, Ont.,

Sault Ste Marie OPP are investigating damage and thefts from parked vehicles in the Searchmont area over the weekend.

Officers were called to the area after weekend snow machine riders returned to their vehicles and discovered that their trucks and trailers were forcibley entered. This area of Searchmont is a common destination for winter enthusiasts who park their vehicles and enjoy Ontario's outdoor winter activities.

Most of the vehicles entered were not from Ontario. Sault Ste Marie OPP have found five separate vehicles and trailers entered. The owners of these vehicles are still attempting to determine what, if anything is missing. This area is an isolated area of Searchmont where the plowed roadway ends and the snow machine trail begins. OPP believe that someone on Whitman Dam Road may have seen someone coming or going in that area that may have raised some suspicion. Please call the Sault Ste Marie OPP if you feel you saw anything
