The Batchawana First Nation Police are investigating the theft of several Christmas presents from an apartment on the Batchawana First Nation Territory.

On Sunday 23 Dec 2001 the family left their apartment at about 6:00 p.m. to visit friends. When they returned, they discovered that someone had entered their apartment and taken about half of their Christmas presents.

No suspect or none of the presents have been located.


ONE IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE LAID

A Sault Ste Marie man was arrested and charged with impaired driving after his pickup truck ended up in the ditch on the Territory.

On Friday 21 Dec. 2001 at about 10:00 p.m. officers were notified of a pick up truck in the ditch. Officers from the Batchawana First Nation Police arrived and charged one man with impaired driving.
