THE IMPORTANCE OF A SECURE LOAD

A motorist travelling on Hwy 17 in Laird Twp. east of Sault Ste Marie found out how important it is to ensure that whatever load you are hauling is safely secured to your vehicle.

On Saturday afternoon at about 2:30 p.m. the man was traveling on Hwy 17 near the Laird Hill. At the crest of the hill was one concrete block in the middle of the road. The man was unable to take any evasive action and he ran over the block. There was extensive damage to the under carriage his mini van but he was not hurt.

Police were unable to locate the vehicle that the block fell off of.

A Goulais River man was not hurt after his car slid into the ditch and onto its roof.
