GARDEN RIVER FIRST NATIONS HOUSE FIRE Garden River, Ont. At 7:00 a.m. yesterday, the Garden River Fire Department and the Anishinabek Police Service responded to a fire alarm at 42 Blue Jay Court in Garden River.

At 7:00 a.m. yesterday, the Garden River Fire Department and the Anishinabek Police Service responded to a fire alarm at 42 Blue Jay Court in Garden River. A family of eight narrowly escaped from their burning home. One person sustained minor injuries.

The fire started in a bedroom and was extinguished by the Garden River Fire Department. Damage was extensive. The investigation is continuing.

GOULAIS RIVER FLOOD WATCH SUSPENDED
Goulais River, Ont.

Sault Ste Marie OPP and the Goulais River Fire and Rescue volunteers have suspended this years flood watch of the Goulais River. All roads in the Goulias River area are now open.

The water in the Goulais River receded enough over the weekend that all roads that were covered in water for the last several days are now bare and dry. There was no significant damage to any of the roadways in that area from the flood waters.

Unless there is some severe weather in the next short whil
