GOULAIS TOWNSHIP - On May 27, 2018 at approximately 8:25 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 in Goulais Township, Ont.
As a result of further investigation, John Baird, age 59, of Goulais Township, Ont. was arrested and charged with:
- Care or control of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. on June 18, 2018.
