Highway 17 was closed between Agawa Bay and Wawa early this afternoon following a collision around the noon hour.
A tractor trailer was overturned and suffered extensive damage, while its cargo was strewn across the highway.
There was no word on injuries.
The highway was initially closed at Frater Road north of Montreal River Harbour, the 511Ontario road information service said.
Police later closed the road in both directions from Frater Road to Highway 101 near Wawa.
