Heyden woman charged with driving while suspended

BLIND RIVER - On Oct. 15, 2018, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties on Highway 17 in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly before 4 p.m., police observed an eastbound car on Highway 17 and queried the plate. Investigation determined the female driver of the vehicle was suspended and a vehicle stop was initiated.

As a result of the investigation, Lorraine Marier, 42 years of age from Aweres Township, Ont. was charged with drive while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Dec. 19, 2018.
