Harassment victim had car plowed in, driveway blocked: police

After being arrested for harassment, police say the accused was released is alleged to have plowed snow around the complainant's car at their place of work and blocked their driveway at their home

Police arrested and charged a 55-year-old man after receiving a report of mischief and harassment.

On Friday, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged a man, who was released on conditions which he later breached. 

The same man was arrested again on Feb. 2 after allegedly plowing snow around the complainant's car at their place of work and blocking their driveway at their residence.

The 55-year-old man from Elliot Lake was arrested and charged with:

  • Criminal Harassment - repeatedly follow, repeatedly communicate with, watch and beset, threatening conduct
  • Mischief - interfere with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property - under $5000
  • Mischief - obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment, or operation of property
  • Fail to comply with undertaking

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on Feb. 3.

The OPP will not be releasing the name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
