Another winter storm is upon us and fortunately there were no motor vehicle collisions reported overnight. Motorists are reminded to listen to local weather forecasts and road conditions prior to travelling the roadways. Remember that road conditions vary depending on the sun, shade or roadway surface. Watch for slick spots especially under bridges, on overpasses and in shaded spots.
The biggest hazard of winter driving is slippery roads. Drivers should allow at least three times the distance to reach a full stop. This means that your safe distance behind the car in front of you should be three times as far.
Use extra caution and give yourself a little more time to arrive to your destination.
