A driver has been charged with impaired after Sault Ste. Marie OPP officers found a vehicle in a ditch on Lakeshore Drive near Red Rock on Saturday afternoon.
“It was determined by officers that the driver had been consuming alcohol,” says a release issued by OPP. “The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Sault Ste. Marie OPP detachment for further testing.”
As a result, 53-year-old Kent Mousseau of Dennis Township is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 11 to face charges of:
• Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) CC
Mousseau was issued a 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
