Charges stem from domestic disturbance

BLIND RIVER - On Dec. 29, 2017, shortly after 10:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Hudson Street in the Town of Blind River.

Investigation determined that a married couple had been separated for a short time. The ex-wife returned to the matrimonial home only to find her ex-husband in the company of another female. The ex-wife was enraged and began to physically assault her ex-husband and his girlfriend.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old female from Blind River, Ont. was charged with:

  • Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC); and with
  • Assault-Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Feb. 1, 2018.
