Bruce Mines resident faces 12 sexual assault-related charges

Ontario Provincial Police report that a Bruce Mines resident faces a number of sexual assault charges involving persons under the age of 16.

In a news release issued today, police stated that they arrested the individual on Tuesday shortly after 5 p.m after an investigation into several sexual assault incidents involving minors.

OPP say the incidents took place between May 2019 and June 30 of this year in Johnson Township and Bruce Mines.

The Bruce Mines resident, 38, has been charged with five counts of sexual assault on a person under 16, five counts of sexual interference, and two counts of invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age.

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Blind River on Friday and was remanded into custody.
