Bracebridge man accused of breaching his bail

NORTH SHORE TOWNSHIP - On Dec. 18, 2017 at 12:10 a.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for service on Handy Spot Road in the Township of the North Shore, Ont.

The complainant stated that his brother assaulted him after an altercation took place. The male suspect was subsequently located and arrested by police.

Derrick Sanderson, 32 years of age, of Bracebridge, Ont., was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. on Dec. 21, 2017.
