BLIND RIVER – On Dec. 1, 2016, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the East Algoma Crime Unit began an investigation of a sexual assault that occurred approximately 30 years ago. 

At the time, the sexual assault involved a 17-year-old male and a 7-year-old female in the Town of Blind River.

As a result of the investigation a 48-year-old male from Blind River, Ontario was charged with:

  • Sexual Assault, contrary to section 246.1 of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Mar. 2, 2017.
