73-year-old Sault man charged with impaired driving on St. Joseph Island

ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP - On Sunday the 4th day of August, 2019 at 5:42 p.m., a member of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 548 when he had occasion to observe a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted. The officer determined that the driver of the vehicle had consumed alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Randolph Dumanski, a 73-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. was arrested and charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, Ont. on Sept. 5, 2019.
