Man, 26, killed in Brampton, Ont., shooting; police appeal for witnesses

BRAMPTON, Ont. — Police in Peel Region say a 26-year-old man from Brampton, Ont., has been killed in what they believe to be a targeted shooting.

Investigators say they received a call Wednesday around 4:45 p.m. that someone had been shot at a home on Rushbrook Drive in Brampton.

When police arrived, they found a man and a woman with what appeared to be gun shot wounds.

They say the woman was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition, but the man died at the scene.

Police believe that three suspects fled the area in a vehicle. They suspect an abandoned vehicle on fire that was reported soon after in the Grenoble Boulevard and Williams Parkway area may be related.

Investigators are asking anyone with surveillance video or information on the shooting to come forward.
