ZELJEZNAK, Leonard (Leon)

(1927-2003)
The family of Leonard Zeljeznak is deeply saddened to announce the sudden and unexpected death of a beloved husband and dear father. He was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Katarina Zeljeznak and brothers Franjo and Martin of Croatia. He is survived by his loving wife Sofija of 54 years, his son Zvonko (Dorothy), grandsons Dr. John (Christina), Peter and granddaughter Laura; his daughter Miriam Sagrak (Hrvoje) and granddaughters Kristina and Adriana of Zagreb, Croatia. He is lovingly remembered and will be sadly missed by his lifelong friends Mike and Lucy Pintaric and their children Bill and Neola Pintaric (children Michael and David) and Slavica and Mark Szymberski (children Erica and Mark). Leonard was proud of his children and grandchildren and always encouraged them to be the best they could be. Leonard worked for Great Lakes Power Ltd. for 32 years (retired 1990) and had many wonderful friends. He spent his retirement years working in his garden (the farm) and visiting his children and grandchildren. Leonard loved his adopted country of Canada, but never forgot his beloved Croatia. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Sunday, October 26, 2003 from 6-9 pm. Prayers will be at 7:30 pm Sunday. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Highways Church on Monday, October 27, 2003 at 11 am. Father Veselko officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Our Lady of the Highways Church or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
