Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 13, 2021. Maryon Ida Mae Young was born May 28, 1937 on Manitoulin Island Ontario and is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mae Morden. Maryon was Incredibly loved and will be forever missed by her husband of 61 years Larry. Devoted Mother to Terri Young Wilson and Marty (Chris). Maryon will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Brian, Riley and Parker Wilson. Predeceased by her siblings Lloyd (Winnifred), Elva (Len), Dorothy (Tom), Maxwell (Jenny) and Ruby (Karl). She will be truly missed by her nieces and nephews especially Lynne Manner. Maryon will be missed by the Young’s, Burt (Carolyn), Randy (Joanne), Carolyn (predeceased) (Alan Jackson, predeceased), Michael (Michaela) and their families.
Maryon was very community minded. She was a past president of Rotary, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, The City Beautification Committee, Advocus and was the previous board member of Algoma University. She also remained active with her Sorority Sisters from Beta Sigma Phi. Maryon will be sadly missed by her golfing buddies on both sides of the river and her American friends in Florida. Maryon worked professionally and enjoyed gardening right up to the day of her passing. As Larry always said, “She never stopped”.
A private Church service for family will be scheduled at Precious Blood Cathedral. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. The family would like to thank the paramedics and the City Police for their kindness and compassion offered during this very difficult time.
