On March 20th, we lost the heart of our family. Bonnie passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.
On January 7, 1949 the late Sue and late Frank Olenick of Brandon Manitoba brought Yvonne (known as Bonnie by her close friends) home to meet her big brother Reg (predeceased 2021). At a young age she went off to Toronto to attend nurses college. Then in 1969 after finishing school, she came home to marry the love of her life Joe Young, the boy from across the street. Life then took them to western Canada and with each move came new career opportunities for Bonnie. In her spare time she enjoyed spending many hours in her craft room creating all kinds of wonders. She also lent her time and talents to help fundraise for the community and the church. Motherhood came calling and she welcomed Tara, Liberty (Blaine) and Carmen. Daughters that she would love with her whole heart and support to no end. Teaching them the true meaning of TLC. The family grew to include grandchildren, Jay, Danielle, Colton and Noah. Each building a loving and unique relationship with their Nana, shaping life long memories.
Bonnie touched the lives of many with her outrageously fun sense of humour, her fierce protection of those she loved and her never ending selflessness. We are all better people because she was part of our lives and she will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her last few years were spent fighting a courageous battle with grace, strength and much humour. We would like to thank each and every person who has helped care for our wife and mother during that time.
