WALDIE, David Alexander

1921 - 2013 on Wednesday, February 6, 2012.  David passed away peacefully at the Plummer Site of the Sault Area Hospital.  Loving and trusted partner and friend of 56 years to the late Madeline (Irvine).  Loving father and life teacher to the late Keith and Kathryn (Thane) of Burlington.  Cherished "Grandpa" to Jessica and Zachary.  David is survived by brothers Russell, Robert, and Murray; predeceased by sister Janet. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.  David will be remembered as an avid cyclist, walker and all-round fitness nut, a quiet environmentalist, and a champion for the underdog.  Flowers graciously declined.  Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 20th at 2:00 p.m. at Central United Church.  The family wishes to thank the medical staff at the Sault Area Hospital, in particular, the Rehabilitation Unit, and the Transition Unit at the Plummer Site for their compassionate care.
