One of the most loyal fans of the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto Maple Leafs and Sault Greyhounds will now be watching their games from heaven. Our family Matriarch, Emma passed away in her sleep in her 103rd year surrounded with love on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Extendicare Mapleview into the loving arms of her late husband Gino Verdecchia and her Lord God.
Cherished mother of Walter (Gayle) and the late Wayne (Carol). Nanny will forever be in the hearts of her grandchildren Lori (Chris), Marty (Nicole), Sherri (Jack) and Shay (Jae). Her great-grandchildren Mercedes (Aaron), Ryleah (Mat), Mackenzie (Trevor), Carley, Connor, Amy (Trent), Peighton and Brielle will always cherish their memories of her. Her great-great grandchildren Avery Emma, McKenah, Ace, Amelia, Lucca, Ellyette and Julia were blessed to have had her love. Daughter of the late Angelo and Onorina Pozzo. Last surviving sibling of brothers Giovanni, Guido (Tina), Peter, Hector (Jean) and Elio (Josette) and sisters Olympia Gover (Romano), Enes and Elda Gardi (Vic). Special aunt of Barry Pozzo and Geraldine Yeo and many other nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E 705-759-2522) on Friday, August 6, 2021 from 10:30 am to 11:45 am. Funeral service in the chapel at 12 noon. Entombment beside her beloved husband at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Social distancing and masks are required. In lieu of flowers, donations (payable by cheque or on line) to Mapleview Resident's Council or to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
