(June 10, 1941 – December 8, 2018) - At the F.J. Davey Home after a lengthy illness, George passed away with his loving family by his side. Cherished husband and best friend of Linda (nee Wilding) for 51 years. Loving Father of Paul (Jackie). Devoted Grandfather of Jasmine. George is predeceased by his parents William and Irene Vardy; Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law, Wesley and Sylvia Wilding, Siblings; Bessie, William Jr. (Bernice, Yvonne), Harold, and Walter. He is survived by his Sister; Shirley Cumming (late Jim, late Les), Sisters-in-Law; Josie Vardy, Shirley Vardy and Liz Wilding, and Brothers-in-Law; Larry Wilding, and Brian Wilding (Brian). He will be missed by special nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. George was retired from Algoma Steel for over 22 years and together, George and Linda travelled the world, as well as vacationing in Florida for 15 years. His most favourite spot was Young State Park in Boyne City Michigan, where for over forty years he camped and spent time with his best friends Nick and Gail. Special thanks to the staff of the F.J Davey Home, 2nd Floor, Driftwood for all the care and compassion given to George and Linda during his stay there. Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral service to be held in the chapel on Friday December 14, 2018 at 11 am. Chaplain Mary Alice Policicchio officiating. Internment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the F.J.
