James (Big Jim) Varcoe passed away Sunday, January 12, 2003 after a courageous battle post op in the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 69. Beloved husband of the late June. Cherished and loving father of his two girls, Judy O?Neil (Paul Pierman) and Jo-Anne Miller, sons Jimmy, Bobby (Meg) and Rocky (Claudie). Son of the late Rod and Cora. Special nephew of the late Gertrude Conway. Dear brother of Marilyn Schmidt (late Joc), Donny (Dorothy), Hazel Bolduc (late Jules) and the late Fordy (Ann). Loved Papa to Wade (Alycia), Jim-Jim, T.J. Derek, Rocky, Alycia (Matt), Dallas, Joshua, Amy and Alex. Special and loved Papa to Amanda. Great Papa to Austin, Mason and Andrew. Dear brother-in-law of Sharon (Jim), Mary (Don), Verna (Gord), Brent (Linda), Debbie (Don) and Hal. Special friend to daughter-in-law Jill. Jim will be sadly missed by his many many nieces and nephews, dear friends at Mary's Lunch, Nautilus, City Parks and Recreation of Sault Ste. Marie, Vic, Eddy, Ben, Dave, Jerry and loyal friends throughout the city. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, January 15 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Norbo officiating.
