Left Earth for Heaven on Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

Jim and his wife Maureen were in their 65th year of marriage.

They were world travellers who had hearts for serving God and for serving people.  Jim adored his wife, his three children Stephen (Deb), Heather Whitley (Brian) and Daniel (Michelle) and his 13 + 1 adult grandchildren.  His favourite little people were his great grandkids!  He was eagerly anticipating the addition of three more to share his apricots with.   Dear brother of Eleanor Carlson (late Ernest), Leslie (Isabel), late Sam (late Rose), late Bud (Barb), Margaret Doherty (late George), Doug and Lorraine.  He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Jim has joined his dear friend Johnny in Heaven but will be missed here by many close friends - especially Ted.   Jim loved his years working at Algoma Steel and then at CASS, teaching and mentoring many.   He was the humble recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for his humanitarian work, but the only reward he really longed for was to hear,  "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation at the Island Bible Chapel, Richards Landing on Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  Funeral service from the Free Methodist Church, Richards Landing on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 2 pm.

Spring interment Richards Landing Cemetery.  Memorial donations (payable by cheque) to NSHN Auxilliary - Matthews Site or to Light Haven Christian Home would be appreciated by the family.  (Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel 492 Wellington St E 705-759-2522).
