TINKIS, Rosa "Rosita" (nee Tanner) - Our marathon swimmer passed peacefully at the Mauno Kaihla Koti on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Grant. Loving mother of Margrit Hopfgartner (Alois). Dear grandmother of Sylvia Belsito (Carmen), Marlene Johns (Larry) and Mark Hopfgartner (Chris Kitzman). Special great grandmother of Frank and Carla Belsito, Amanda, Luke and Grant Johns and Adam and Emily Hopfgartner. Rosita was remembered by many for her marathon swims in Lake Ontario in the late 1950's. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, May 15 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday, May 16 at 11:00 am. with Captain Stephen McNeilly officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Mauno Kaihla Koti would be appreciated by the family.
