It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley on Monday, September 21, 2020 after a long and courageous battle, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family and friends. Beloved wife of the late David Desjardins. Cherished mother and stepmother of April (Ryan), Ashley (Kevin), Aleisha (Josh), Chantel (Jesse), Shawn (Amanda), Chester (Lisa), Tina (Jim), Jame, Jeremy (Marion), Tammy, late Tonja, Dean (Karen), Linda (Adam) and Lori. Forever remembered by her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family from the Netherlands. Daughter of Nellie Timmerman. Loving sister of Deborah (Mike), Jacqueline (Wayne), Rudolph (Kim) and sister-in-law of Vernon (Wanda), Benjamin (Ella), Agnes (late Philip), late Barbara (Fred), late Theresa, Donna, Margaret and Jack. A special thank you to Kim Gardner and Tiffany Jaques for all their help and love and her dear friend “banana bread lady”. She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and many friends. Shirley will be remembered for her comforting talks, compassion, strength and devotion to helping others. A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. at 5 Bi-da-Ban Ave. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (Sault Branch) would be greatly appreciated.
