February 28, 1937- September 4, 2021

Peacefully at F.J. Davey Home "Apple Orchard" on Saturday, September 4th, 2021. Lois always set aside Saturdays for special events; watching her beloved Toronto Blue Jays or the Maple Leafs, enjoying calls from family or sharing a coffee with friends. These all took second place to sharing events with her kids. Saturday, September 4th, 2021 was one of those very special days for Lois. After sharing a chat with her caregivers and enjoying a breakfast meal she curled up in one of her favourite comforting blankets, took her Saviour's hand and left this world to spend eternity with her ever loved "Jimmy". Lois lived her life with a very strong faith that she was eager to share with whoever she crossed paths with. From pizza nights at Manitoulin Camp, to the family meals with pies lining the length of the counter top. You never left Lois's caring company hungry, cold or without the feeling of unconditional love and acceptance.

Lois was the wife of the late James Thomas for 51 years with whom they shared a loving family. She was Mother of Judy Wales (Larry), Kelly Rowlinson (Dan), Barry Thomas (Brenda), Lori Marino (Ray), and Darlene Cameron (late Willy). Grandchildren and great grandchildren were Lois' most cherished blessings and many blessings there were. Amy Wales, Greg Rowlinson (Sarah), Marisa Jarrell (Cody), Crystal Rye (Brad), Robert Marino (Jessica), Ryan Marino (Gina), Willy Cameron (Nicole), Bethany Marino, Katerina Cameron and special great gramma to Kelsey Rye, Carter Jarrell, Aubrey Rowlinson, Cayden Jarrell, Brenda Cameron, Curtis Marino, Oaklynn Rowlinson and Bella Cameron.... Great gramma loved you all!

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Velma Gagnon. Sister of the late Velma Penley (late Gordon), late Louise Fisher (late Jule Watson, late Charles Fisher), late William "Sonny" Gagnon, Joyce Sandvik (late Eric), late Olive Jarrell (late Joe), late Gerald Gagnon (Patricia), late Gail O'Donnell (late Charles), late Ronald Gagnon, Barb Boyer (Joe), Ken Gagnon (Leona), Allan Gagnon (Lona). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and church family. Thanks to all the special people that cared for Lois from the staff of 3B and 1B at the Sault Area Hospital and her new found special friends at the F.J. Davey~Home Apple Orchard. Following the provincial COVID guidelines it was Lois's wish to return to her home church, Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle at 306 McNabb Street in Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.  Funeral service will follow with Rev. Ben Kjiersdam officiating. Lois will be laid to rest beside her husband Jim at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Echo Bay following the service. Please join the family not for a time of sadness but rather a time of reflection of our mom, sister, gramma, great gramma and special friend and what she meant to all of us. Memorial donations payable by cheque or online to the Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle building fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E.  705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.

In remembrance of Lois please be kind to one another, share a cup of tea and a smile with a simple "how's your day?"
