Maurice Thibodeau passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with loving family at his side on Sunday, March 30, 2003 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Ghislaine (Douchet). Loving father of Judy Trudel (Gerry), Marc (Joan Wood-Salomon). Loving grandfather of Ghislain Beaudry, Dalton and Chad Thibodeau. Great grandfather of Brook-Lynn. Beloved brother of Mrs. Elizabeth Clement (Charles), Mr. Albert Thibodeau (Anna), Mrs. Beatrice Dugas (Gaetan) and predeceased by Rene (Stella), Hector, Ivan (Jeanne), Raymond (Marguerite), Leo (Denise), John-Paul and Lorraine. Beloved brother-in-law of Mrs. Odette Douchet (late Jean) and Mrs. Mauricette Bila (late Maurice). In France - Mrs. Yolande Barbier (late Leon), Mr. Bernard Haid (late Christiance), Mrs. Simone Douchet (late Rene). Predeceased by four brothers and sisters-in-law in France. Maurice served his country for five years overseas in Regiment #23 Cdn. Fld. Amb. RCAMC. He was a member of the Legion's colour party and the burial party until his health failed. Maurice will be sadly missed by his many, many friends. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, April 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral mass will be on Friday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. from La Paroisse Sainte-Marie-du-Sault Church with Rev. Joseph Niesyto officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Maurice requested that donations be made to the Sault Area Hospital for the purchase of a heart monitor. Maurice was a man of very few words, but when he spoke the words were heartfelt and touched your soul!!
