A very kind, loving, and selfless person passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022 at the age of 85. Wilma was the beloved wife of Robert Stone for over 65 years. Wilma will be most remembered for her love of children. She was the treasured mother of the late Terry, the late Brian, Gary (Melanie), Randy, and Rhonda (Ian Plumley).  She was the proud and devoted grandma to Tabitha Anderson (Jordan), Samantha Stone(Jennifer Cronin), Ian Amos, Sean Plumley (Brianna), Trevor Plumley (Agata Kolodziejczyk), and Matthew Stone. GG  to Andy, Trent, Ava, Isaac, Evelyn, and Arden. Daughter of the late Harold and Sally Triplett (Ableson).  Dear sister of Betty Andrews (late Bob), Wes (Joan), Audrey Baic (Doug), and Bucky. Predeceased by her in-laws George and Annie Stone and sister and brother in laws Lillian Morden (Malcolm), Ed Stone (Marie), Gord Stone (Anne), Bill Stone (Phyllis), and Doreen Shelhorne (Jack). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her gentle smile and caring touch will live on through those she loved.  She dedicated her life to caring for her family.

Always thinking of others, she touched many lives through her 40 years as a nurse and 50 years as a kindergarten Sunday school teacher. She had varied interests from gardening, birdwatching, travelling, cryptic crosswords, Leonard Cohen, genealogy to garage sales and gruesome murder mysteries.  She enjoyed spending time at the family camp and “going for control” in a lively card game of Hearts. And she loved all things purple!

Wilma left us gradually over the last 10 years as she lived with vascular dementia. The family would like to thank the many committed staff at Maple View - Superior for their compassionate care of Wilma over the last 4 years. The family would also like to thank dear friends Fay and Ann Beaton, sister Audrey and niece Sandra Lyons for their time in supporting Wilma.

A service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:30 am at United Baptist Church (41 Malabar Drive). Friends and family are invited to join the family for a come and go reception in the lower hall of the church from 12:15 until 2:30pm. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation, United Baptist Church or A Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Stone family.
