October 30, 1974, passed away peacefully at her residence in Sault St. Marie on November 23, 2018. Daughter of the Michael Linklater (predeceased) of Moosonee and Zoey (nee Enose) Wood-Salmond (Jim) of Sault St. Marie, and also David & Barbara Southwind of Sagamok First Nation. She was married to John Southwind of Sudbury. Dear sister of Renee Chakazim of Timmins and Giselle McGregor (Kyle) of Birch Island. She was a wonderful mother to Stacy Linklater, Trisha Linklater (Shaun) of Sault Ste. Marie, Heaven Southwind (Junior) and Summer Southwind (Pujai) all from Sudbury. Grandmother of Deston, Kalvin and River all from Sault Ste. Marie. She also has many nieces and nephews that will miss her. Most of all Darlene will be missed by all her friends she has associated with through her 44 years that she has been with us all. In our way of life, there are no words to say good-bye. So we say Baamaapii Kaawaabmin Miinwaa (till the next time we see each other). Visitation was on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at the New Sagamok Community Centre. Funeral Mass on Thursday November 29, 2018 in the community centre at 11 AM which Fr. Jim Kelly officiated. Cremation afterwards with interment of ashes at a later date.
