(January 25, 2008-February 4, 2018) - It is with utmost grief that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Bobby.  Cherished son of Rob and Sabrina, little brother and best friend of Mikayla.  Survived by his Grandparents Robert and Kristin Smylie of Sault Ste. Marie and John and Jane Sek of Fort Erie; and Great grandparents Alice Miller of St. Catharines, Stan and Lillian Sek of Brantford.  Adored nephew of Erika Dean (Gordon) of Waterdown, Erin Smylie-Politano (Paul) of Sault Ste. Marie, Jennifer Sek (Ray) of Peterborough, Jay Sek (Deanna) of Welland, Adrienne Sek (Allen) of California City, CA, A.J. Sek of Fort Erie, Samantha Sek (Josh) of Niagara Falls.  Preciously loved cousin and playmate of Matthew Smylie and Paige Politano, Ashley and David Dean, Francesca and Eric Sek, Noah Henderson. Bobby will be missed by his many treasured friends, schoolmates and teammates and large extended family of great aunts and uncles, cousins and from across Canada, United States, and Finland.

Bobby was tender hearted towards animals and especially cared for his cat Loki and dog Harley.  He loved to play Lego, video games, Star Wars, Science Fiction, belly flops and had a great fascination with rocks and geology.  He was very inquisitive and wanted to be a scientist or an accountant some day. Bobby loved his school Guy B Brown in Waterdown and had many close friends there. He was thrilled to represent Waterdown in swimming, winning several meets in Hamilton.  He participated with passion at Ouroboros Brazillian Ju Jitsu recently winning gold in Toronto. He was training and actively looking forward to his provincial finals.  He was so proud to wear his Flamborough Soccer Club jersey as a member of their competitive program. He was an avid sports fan and one of his favourite things to do was cheer on his favourite team; Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto FC which he did with zest right to the end.  He attended Grace Anglican Church and we are confident that he is resting in the hands of our Lord and Saviour Jesus. He was a sensitive, kind, energetic, chatty, funny and loving kid; so full of life. We will always love and miss him so much.

We would like to thank the tireless efforts of the staff, paramedics, Nurses, Doctors and teams who cared for Bobby at Joseph Brant Hospital, Orng Ambulance and McMaster Children’s Hospital who tried so hard to save Bobby’s life and care for our family as well.  Donations in honour of Bobby can be made to Grace Anglican Memorial Fund.  Friends are invited to visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, ON, on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Churchyard Cemetery.
