June 28, 1924 – November 7, 2017 - Peacefully, surrounded by family at Algoma Manor, Thessalon on Tuesday November 7, 2017. Eleanor Smith in her 94th year, beloved wife of the late Leonard Smith for 69 years. Loving mother of Ronald Smith ( Brenda ), Laura Miller ( late Ted ), Alda-Mae Raymond ( Michael ), Rhoda Goodall ( Raymond ), Murray Smith ( Judy ) and Marleen Lewis ( Ron ) and the late Nancy. Special Grandma to 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Dear daughter of the late James and Catherine Reed and daughter-in-law of the late David and Jean Smith. Dear sister of the late Ronald Reed and sister-in-law of Ruth Cornfield ( Vernon and the late Merlyn Weir ) and the late Raymond Smith ( late Jean ), Murray Smith ( Ina and the late Marilyn ). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends and a loving church family. Friends may call at the Thessalon Church of Christ, 8 Albert Street, on Friday November 10, 2017 from 7 to 9pm. Funeral service in the church building on Saturday November 11, 2017 at 1:30pm Don Smith officiating. Interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery.
