SMITH, HELEN BERNADETTE (NEE WIWCHAR)

Peacefully at 3:15 p.m., on Saturday November 17, 2012 at the F. J. Davey Home, Helen Smith in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold (Smitty). Loving mother Deb (John), Pam (Anthony), Randy (Kelly), Jimmy, the late Mary-Ellen, Craig and the late Swartzee, Helen’s cat. Grandmother of Jourdan, Candace (Jessica), and James. Daughter of the late Alexandra and Irene (nee Bakovena) Wiwchar. Sister to the late Billy, late John (Stella), Nellie (late John), Mary (late Andy), late Steve (late Vivian) (Jane), Emily (late Albert), and the late Nestor (Patsy). Aunt to many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan, and Detroit Michigan. Helen was life long time friend of Ron and Sandra Pavelich, Richard and Barb Roberts, the late Ralph and Jennette Fitton, Danny, late Art, late Ted, Lorraine, Audrey, Julie, Connie, the late Nicky, Carol, and Ralph. Fun loving Mom to Jeff, Rob, Jake, Randy, and Chester. Helen was born in Gorlitz Saskatchewan, which is a small Ukrainian community. She was a twin, and didn’t learn to speak English until she was 5 years old.  Our Mom had a very outgoing personality; she was always the center of attention, and the life of the party. Friends may call at O’Sullivan Donnelly Visitation Center (Former Blessed Sacrament Church), Thursday November 22nd from 6-9 p.m.. Memorial Mass to be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Friday, November 23, 2012, at 11:00 with Father Pat Woods officiating. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff at the Great Northern Nursing Center (Activity’s - Wayne and Liz). Special thanks go out to the angels at the F. J. Davey Home, on Birch 2, Trish, Deonne and Fay, and the RPN’s Evelynn and Patrick, and also to Mary, Kim, and Shelly, for their loving care, during her short stay on Cedar 2 Palliative.
