Once in a lifetime, you meet a special person who changes your life for the better, just by being a part of it. Her laugh and positive outlook are infectious - she is proof that there really is good in this world! Even on the hardest of days, somehow she finds strength to keep moving forward. While she is fiercely loyal and protective of her family and close friends, you will never find a kinder soul than hers. She is fastidious when selecting a greeting card, to ensure that the verse perfectly describes her feelings for you! Yet she would never let you to make a fuss over her.

If you have been fortunate enough to know and love Irene, you have met that someone who only happens to you, once in a lifetime.

Irene was reunited with her pride and joy, daughter (late) Lori Manzo, on June 24, 2018. She will forever be missed, but will remain in the hearts of her cherished grandson, Brandon Schmitt, his wife Annie, her great-grandchildren, Ella Ray & Cora Ann, and son-in-law, Chris Manzo. She will be remembered with great joy and fond memories by the many friends she made over her lifetime.

Irene was born in Weston, Ontario and was the daughter of Edith Rose Reed and Ernest George Reed. She had thirteen brothers and sisters, whom she loved dearly. She was an amazing Aunt to many nieces and nephews who will miss her immensely.

Irene continued Lori’s dream to find a cure for cancer, raising the third highest amount by an individual contributor at the 2017 Run for the Cure!

A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff who took such good care of Irene while she was in ICU and ARCH. Your compassion and thoughtfulness was very much appreciated. At her request, there will be no formal service. The family invites all of those that she has touched in her life to make a donation in her memory to ARCH, SAH Cancer Clinic or Run for the Cure. Arrangements entrusted to Damignani Transfer, Burial & Cremation Services.
