Unexpectedly but peacefully at the age of 68, with his family by his side, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on September 7, 2018. Cherished husband to Rhonda for 47 years. Loving father to Stephen (Lisa), Matthew (Melissa), Timothy (Krystal), Mary-Ellen Wilkinson (Marc), and Jennifer Smith. Proud grandfather of Hayley, Whitney, Jackson, Spencer, Mya, Avery, Maggie, Grace, Faith Smith, Madelyn and Lily Acland, and step-grandfather to Kaitlin and Chris Earle, and Jordan Hocevar. Loving son of Evelyn Smith (late Arnold), son-in-law of Stella Mitchell (late Henry). Brother of Dale Smith (Debbie), Jane James (Lewis), Keith Smith (Christine), Nancy Armstrong (Allan), and Brenda Jull. Brother-in-law of the late Sharon Clark (Ace), Roger Mitchell (late Joan), Bev Mitchell, Tom Mitchell (Tammy), Brian Mitchell (Monica). Much loved uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews. The family is especially thankful to Dr.’s Nia and Kumanovskiy, special nurses Sadie, Rachelle, Katrina, respiratory therapist Jennifer and all ICU and 3E nurses for their amazing and compassionate care over the last two and a half weeks at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe, Ontario.
