SHEWFELT, Ruth Ellen

Passed away peacefully at the Lady Dunn Health Centre, Wawa on Saturday September 24, 2016 at the age of 92 years. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Shewfelt. Left to mourn are son Bob (Betty), grandson Trevor Shewfelt (Doris), granddaughter Michelle Peterson (Travis), great grandchildren Emily and Eric Shewfelt, nieces “her girls” Aileen Ethier, Linda Moldovan, (Gary Martel), Lesly Ann (Dave Reid) and loving relatives and friends. Ruth was born November 8, 1923 near Bruce Mines but resided in Wawa for over 65 years. For many years she enjoyed playing cards at the Seniors Centre and at the Legion.  A funeral service will be held at the P.M. Gilmartin Funeral Home (140 Churchill Avenue, Wawa, 1-800-439-4937) on Monday September 26, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Lachine officiating. A private interment will take place at the Woodland Cemetery, Wawa. Memorial donations made to the Lady Dunn Health Centre would be appreciated by the family.
