After years of struggling with multiple heart and other health issues, Carole, passed away peacefully with her family at bedside on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the age of 79. KittyKitty will love and miss her caring mother. Cherished mother of Scott (Ally Dickie), Susan (Mike Pilon) and Mark. Loving Grandma of Erika (James Vinnels-Bell), Luca and Sloane. Daughter of the late Irene (Erkkila) and the late Harold “Bud” Fetherston. Sister of the late Ted Fetherston (Wanda), and the late Robyn O’Connell. Predeceased by her former husband, Calvin Shaule. Special cousin of John Erkkila (Margie) and Sharon Chasse (Albert). Carole will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends.
You may remember Carole from her years of teaching at Algoma District School Board, Algoma University (computer professor), and starting a virtual college at Bay Mills Community College. She has fond memories of her years at the Dive Club, Girl Guides of Canada and many other clubs. Many wonderful memories of being at Harmony Beach, enjoying Lake Superior and the sauna.

A celebration of Carole’s life will be held at a later date. An interment will take place and Carole will be reunited with her sister and parents. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
