SHAMAS, Michael

Passed away at the St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Elliot Lake, Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the age of 81. Dear husband of Vibeke (Viva) Shamas of Blind River. Loving father of Karen-Lee Shamas (husband Mark Jessop), Inger Shamas and Brinda Shamas (husband Ted McGregor). Dear son of the late Michael Albert and Haja Shamas. Dear brother of the late Mary Shamas, Anne Desjardins (late Alphonse), Charles Shamas, Frederick Shamas (wife Geneva), Sally Shamas, Clara Shamas, Lucy Wrampling (late Allan) and Albert Shamas. Dear grandfather of Gemma and Maura McGregor. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation and service to be held Wednesday, January 14, from 10 am till service time at 11 am at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church in Blind River with Rev. Margaret Rogers officiating. In lieu of flowers, the request that donations in memory of Michael be made to the Golden Birches Residents Council or the Canadian Diabetic Association or the Lupus Society or the St. Saviour’s Building Fund. The Shamas family wishes to thank the following for their wonderful assistance; Dr. Mary Shamas, Dr. Marc Bradford, the wonderful staff of the Golden Birches and the Hospital for their care and compassion; Rev. Margaret Rogers and Rev. Jody Medicoff, and last but not least our good friends Dana, John Gilmour and Renee Martin, and all others who assisted us during these difficult times.
