After a long and blessed life, in her 92nd year, Edna has peacefully joined her husband Nello and many more family and friends on Tuesday September 27, 2022.

Daughter of the late Enrico Capancioni (late Elvira nee Fioravanti), daughter-in-law of the late Silvio Sartor (late Paolina nee Amadio). Sister of the late Lyda Muscatello (late Tony), the late Elia Schiratti (late Ermo), the late Elmo Capancioni (late Mary nee Kolisnyk) and the late Essio Capancioni (Norma nee Girardi). Sister-in-law to the late Livia Modesto (late Lori), the late Sylvia Dolcetti (late Victor) and the late Alba Zultek (late John).  Survived by her children Paula Belanger (Edwin), Donna MacKenzie (Fred), Raymond Sartor (Brenda nee Luck) and Nello (Donna Lee nee Burgess).  Much loved Nan to her Grandchildren Ryan Belanger (Anne-Marie Gerwlivch), Tyler Belanger (Dawn nee Prpich), Justin MacKenzie (Whitney nee Pagnucco), Dallas Sartor, Tasha Mooney (Aaron), Nikki Kraan and Eric Sartor (Katie Standish). Special Noni to her Great Grandchildren Mikaela Belanger, Blake and Bodin Belanger, Charlotte MacKenzie, Oliver Mooney, Kaylee Kraan, and Milo Matt.  Special Aunt to many, many nieces and nephews. Dear friend to Norma Capancioni, Betty Signoretti, Mildred Mancuso, Anna Vance and Vera Burgess.

Edna will always be remembered for her generous, caring and joking ways. No one was a stranger to her. She treated everyone like family. She loved sharing food and drink with all, especially her Tie Plates and Banana cake. Her favourite expression was “Just a taste”.

The family was very comforted in knowing that her last months were spent in the wonderful care of the many staff and volunteers at ARCH. In the nine months that she was at Arch, they all became her extended family. As well, we are so grateful to all the friends and family that called to talk with her and did outside visits. Even in the cold days of winter she had visitors stand outside her window to chat. In the nicer weather she loved getting outside to sit in the sun, play Crazy Eights and enjoy all the treats and snacks that were brought.

Our gratitude goes out to the many Doctors, nurses and personal support workers who helped mom over the past 25 years with her many challenges.
