Passed peacefully at Health Sciences North on Friday, September 23, 2022 in her 84th year.
Lovingly remembered by her devoted best friend and husband Carlo of 60 years. Dearest mother of Cathy Santa Maria, Teresa (Ron) Spadoni, Robert (Lori) Santa Maria, Joseph (Angel) Santa Maria and Angelo (Melissa) Santa Maria. Beloved grandmother of Allison and Mark Spadoni, Carter and Brock Santa Maria, Jacob and Lindsey Santa Maria and Jonah and Jude Santa Maria. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Catherine Gilbraith. Daughter-in-law of the late Roberto and late Mary Santa Maria. Loving sister of the late Charles (Viola) Gilbraith, late Ronald (Elsie) Gilbraith, Arnold (late Gloria) Gilbraith, late Roland (Ann) Gilbraith and Sharon Dupuis (late John). Sister-in-law of Rita (late Richard) Gorassini, late Guido (late Dolores) Santa Maria and the late Rev. Angelo Santa Maria. Shirley will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Mom loved her family dearly and selflessly and was always there for us in everything we did. She is our inspiration and will be deeply missed.

Friends and family may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Funeral Home (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm. Funeral Mass will follow at St. Gregory’s Parish at 1 pm. with Reverend Eric Pannike officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
