Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, with her family by her side on Wednesday, September 22, 2022 at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of the late Eric Sandvik. Loving mother of Gary Sandvik (Tressia) and Randy Sandvik. Proud grandmother of Xavier Eric Sandvik and special grandmother of Lauren Hocevar. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Velma Gagnon. Dear sister of Barbara Boyer ( late Joseph), Kenneth Gagnon (Leona), Allan Gagnon (Lana) and predeceased by Gail O'Donnell (late Charles), Lois (late Jim), Velma Penley (late Gordon), Louise Fisher (late Chester), William Gagnon, Gerald Gagnon (Patricia), Olive Jarrell (late Joe) and Ronald Gagnon. Joyce is survived by her sister-in-law Fern Sandvik (late Einar) and predeceased by Carl Sandvik, Gunnar Sandvik ( late Kay), Ruth Dupuis (late Joe) and James Sandvik (late Margaret). Joyce will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Mom spent a wonderful and proud career at K Mart here in Sault Ste Marie and helped many of our friends get their first job. Special thank you the wonderful staff at Collegiate Heights who provided excellent care and companionship to our mom. A heartfelt thank to the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Sault Area Hospital who took great care of our mom in her final days.
Friends may visit the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street E. 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. Funeral service to follow in the chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Brad Mittleholtz officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery.
