Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in his 79th year at ARCH with his beloved wife Llona of 55 years by his side. Son of the late Rita and Bud Sandie. Loving father of Kevin (Janine), Debbie Dunlop (Scott), Bruce (Gerrie), Chris (Kathy) and Marnie Holditch (Jeremy). Cherished grandfather of Erin, Emilee, Melyssa, Jillian, Brandon, Jodi, Paige, Nicolas, Greer, Jake and Evan. Predeceased by his grandson Taten Hammerberg. Great grandfather of Cecillia, Saleena and Kennah Jacques. Predeceased by his sister Greta Craig (late Chess). Dear brother of Raymond Sandie (late Joyce). Son-in-law of Madge Hill (late Deb). Brother-in-law of Layne Hill. Wayne’s lifetime encompassed several careers and many amazing adventures. At 21 he joined the police force and served 5 years as a Korah police officer, then 2 years on the city police force. He then joined the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department and served 29 years. This job was his passion. Prior to and during his service career, Wayne held many many secondary jobs. He will be best known for Sandy's Live Bait (15 years) and Kernel Sandy's Popcorn Company. His soul is now and always will be at his log cabin on Copper Bay Road surrounded by peace and serenity. Friends may visit at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 1 until 3 pm.  Funeral Services to be held from Emmanuel United Church on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 2 pm.  Rev.
